Mac password database permission issues
When using Auralia or Musition 4 with Mac OSX, you may receive permission errors such as those shown below when starting the program.
Connect to local database error message. Cannot attach to password database. Error opening database
To resolve these please open the Terminal application (Applications -> Utilities) and run the following commands. You will need to enter your password.
Auralia
- sudo chmod g+rwx /Applications/Auralia\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird/security2.fdb
- sudo chmod o+rwx /Applications/Auralia\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird/security2.fdb
- sudo chmod g+rwx /Applications/Auralia\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird
- sudo chmod o+rwx /Applications/Auralia\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird
Musition
- sudo chmod g+rwx /Applications/Musition\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird/security2.fdb
- sudo chmod o+rwx /Applications/Musition\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird/security2.fdb
- sudo chmod g+rwx /Applications/Musition\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird
- sudo chmod o+rwx /Applications/Musition\ 4.app/Contents/MacOS/firebird
